Nope. Pompous and coward – have more thumb sucking Prince John on mind (and Peter Ustinov’s voice in my ear). Because of the animated Disney movie Robin Hood (1973).

I’m going to go out on a tentacle here and be different and say the prince is Prince Naveen. Pompous. Arrogant. Not so much cowardly but was clearly out of his league with the whole magic situation he was in. Its possible.

I don’t think it’s Naveen for the reason that the casting call hasn’t specified race which normally means they’re looking for a white actor.

Two issues I have with that idea
1) While Flynn is pompous I wouldn’t call him a coward who is ill-equiped to handle tough situations/conflict. In fact as a thief and orphan in Tangled he showed the ability to handle quite a bit. (ONCE could differ of course)
2) We’ve already got a packed guest season thus far with all the Frozen elements (Elsa, Anna, Rock Trolls, Kristoff, Hans, and Snow Queen). Not to mention RH, Marian and the Merry Men; Belle’s mom and Henry’s new GF. Now to add on a Tangled element? Bit “kitchen sink”
On the other hand, we do know that we’re getting Hans’ brothers, at least one of them.

Well Naveen’s race is a bit ambiguous. I’ve seen him portrayed by white and Latino actors at Disney world, and white at Disney on Ice.

Agreed. I am sure the person is just a random brother of Han’s, but was just being different 🙂 although, Rapunzel was in OUAT for just an episode, I dont see why Flynn couldn’t show up for one and one only. Not that I want it to happen (I despise Flynn more than I hate pickles on sandwiches. And I really hate pickles on sandwiches)

Oh, Watcher! I adore Flynn. I think Tangled is a much better movie than Frozen. Not a fan of Princess and the Frog, though. Sorry, my friend. We must disagree on this issue. :/
