Well, she truly loved Neal, even after everything that happened. So of course she never would have chosen Hook while Neal lived. But killing Neal to force it takes away some of her agency…she’s not freely choosing Hook over Neal, the way some CSers wanted, but rather accepting Hook’s affection because Neal’s out of the picture.
I’m glad that A&E have acknowledged that Emma’s relationship with Hook seemed to build too quickly to suit her nature in 3B, and that they’ll be addressing that by having her walls come up again a bit. That at least feels appropriate to who Emma is.
