Rewatching the premiere, I found the Rumple conversation to the grave to be really underwhelming and REALLY selfish. At first, during my initial viewing, I liked the anecdote and hated how it progressed. Then, upon watching it again, the entire conversation wasn’t consistant. First, “I remember how you were so cute,” then,”I killed someone because I loved you,” then, “I found someone to replace you!” Then finally, “I’m going to act like I didn’t do anything and switch the daggers!” It was so dishonoring to Neal and just felt like the final slap on the face to him. Thanks, A&E, for making this all worse.
Completely agree. And I agree with Jo’s reasonings for why. The whole thing–from the recap to the actual episode–it was all about new viewers.
