I wasn’t overly impressed by the Anna/Charming scenes. I found Anna to be a bit annoying this episode and I think that’s because they made her come across as a little Mary-Sueish. Mainly it was the whole sword fighting scenes. Unless Anna has actually practiced sword fighting, there’s no way she could’ve picked it up that well just watching her family’s soldiers. That’s like saying someone who has watched lots of fantasy movies and sword and sandal epics is really good at sword fighting.

I don’t like how they’re suggesting that Charming is only the way he is now because he met Anna.

I liked the Charming/Kristoff friendship. I could see Charming wanting to protect Anna because she was his friend’s fiancĂ©e but to make it seem like Charming was a wimp until Anna helped him to see the light is a bit much IMO.

Charming’s story about his father just seemed a bit off in general especially the part about how his parents fought all the time. I was under the impression in The Shepherd that Charming’s parents had a happy marriage and it was the secret of giving up James that drove the father to an early grave, not that he was an alcoholic.
