The chatroom gave me this idea. If you could cast anybody for a potential future character, who would you cast? Remember, we’re keeping this thread spoiler-free.

I’ll start off by talking about the dream casting decision from the chatroom that inspired the creation of this thread. We were discussing what if Hades ever appeared on the show, and we questioned who should be cast in the role. I suggested Bill Paxton. Watching Bill Paxton’s role as John Garrett on Agents of SHIELD Season 1, I know he can play a good villain. Plus, there’s the irony that his character was an agent for HYDRA, and of course Hydras are a part of Greek Mythology.

Feel free to add your own dream casting decisions.

I’ve wanted Lara Pulver for Morgana le Fay for a long time now, but I’m pretty sure she’s in the main cast of Da Vinci’s Demons which just got renewed for a third season next year so that won’t be happening anytime soon. Given their penchant for casting Lost actors as villains, I’ll nominate Evangeline Lilly in her place.

I started a thread like this a while ago; https://oncepodcast.com/forums/topic/dream-characters-and-casting/

OMG YES for Lara Pulver as Morgana Le Fay! I’d love for them to do Arthur in season 5.

I always pictured Emma Thompson to be a great actress for Cruella De Vil, especially since she could play snarky (see Saving Mr. Banks). With her eccentric attitude both on and off the screen, she would be an amazing Cruella.

Oh God please! I don’t care what role she plays but she is a necessity on ONCE for sure! I love her so much, she’s practically a Goddess… D:

She was the one actress my boyfriend and I could not stand from Lost. Watching those Kate backstory episodes was not fun for us. It was painful.

Besides which, Morgana comes from Arthurian Legend and that’s British lore. If you’re going to cast an actress to play someone British, mine as well cast a British actress. American actors are not known for doing good British accents, but it’s oddly easier for British actors to do American. Not sure why.

Lancelot is a French addition to the British legend and he was played on OUAT by the American Sinqua Walls. Conversely, The Wicked Witch of the West comes from an American novel and was played by an English actress.  Or the Scottish Rumplestitskin (German) and Australian Belle (French). Clearly national fidelity is out the window already.

I give you my perfect candidate to play Morgana: Rachel Weisz

    Excellent choice Felie.

I’d like Natalie Dormer to play Meg from Hercules, she got the sass.

So I finished binge watching S2 of BBC’s Atlantis, and I had forgotten this but from day one I pictured Aiysha Hart (Princess Ariadne) as Princess Jasmine! She should totally play her, whether it is on Once or in a movie! 😀
