Evidently we don’t have a Grimm thread, which is very odd since so many of us watch Grimm. So here we are.
So my history with Grimm was I watched the pilot and quit watching. Then a family friend started talking a lot about it and said I should really get into it because it got much better. I started back in during Season two and then went and Netflixed season one to catch up. This is one show that got better and stronger as it aged and is fantastic.
It gets most often compared to Once, which really isn’t fair because it’s really nothing like it. Yes, the do a take on Fairy Tale monsters but it’s more a mash between a fantasy and police procedural. What I love about the show is they remember their stories, there is character development, continuity and they talk…often…..about their problems. How novel!
As for the current season I’m stuck on the theory that Truble is Nick’s sister. Both have dark coloring, both are Grimms. Nick’s mom sent him to his aunt when he was around 14 because Kelly couldn’t take care of him and for his own safety. My theory is when she sent him to Aunt Marie’s she was also pregnant. She had the baby and gave it a away to protect it…who became Truble. Yes it’s a lot of assumption, but Grimm are very rare and run in families. Maybe that’s why Kelly is so protective of Adelind’s baby now. She didn’t get to raise her own. None of this is based on spoilers, just all headcannon.
So what do you like about the show or story lines or characters?

I have watched all three seasons … like the acting regardless of how silly the plot might be. LOVE MONROE …. jealous of his wife. WILL be enjoying this thread.
Adalaine needs her baby … they should not have taken her.

I have no idea what I like about Grimm, my sister said perhaps they are putting us under a spell that compels us to watch it because when its on its hard to break away from the allure. There are times when I watched an episode of Grimm and I swear I felt like coming down off some powerful stuff. You know the feeling you get when you smoke a hat. hahahah Grimm joke.
Anyway I was wondering if Juliette is, then perhaps this can be a counter part for Diana.
Since Diana is the greco-roman goddess (aka Artemis) of night, animals, moon, magic, childbirth, hunt. And what stoods out is she had a twin brother, Apollo, the god of light, sun, healing, poetry, beauty, etc etc.
Also wonder if Diana and perhaps this second one if it comes to fruition are also keys themselves. That the keys lead them to a special place that perhaps are connected Diana and the other if there is another.
Anyway I was amazing that so much of my extended family Loves Grimm.
But what you think about there is so much going good for them, set Cast of Characters, nice storylines, its very balance and engaging story that has action but talking, drama but story, magic but science, dark but light, serious but humor. Its a really overall good show. And its so much fun to watch and talk about. I mean Talk about it, not ships but story. PURE Story and plotting and theories. About what might be and how things may go. Its also very cultural dealing with legends from several cultures and includes other cultures.
And its doesn’t forget things either and doesn’t treat its audience like its ignorant. Things that happen in season 1 is still mention in season 4. The cast is so sweet and are pretty much a family. They even have Grimm watch parties together. They go camping together. Have retreats together. Hang out each other houses. Even host football parties together. And they are so sweet to the fans, the writers, the actors, directors, and producers. You can tell Grimm cast and crew love what they do and love their fans. Overall this show is just so darn fun.
Anyway can’t wait for next Friday.

In my headcanon, Marie — the free-spirited sister — had more than just a fling with the bird guy, and she asked quietly-suburban Kelly to raise Nick in safety. Nick seems to be more powerful than the average Grimm, and I think a mixed Wesen/Grimm heritage could explain that.

My husband even likes it and we watch together. It started off more horror than I usually enjoy (same with Sleepy Hollow) but the humor, action and character save it (actually same for Sleepy ) I do notice some open plot threads or maybe moments where the writers hinted at one thing but then dropped it but overall not to the point I feel like I have to roll my eyes at the contradictions just yet.
One example is the lady Juliette met in the ghost story la llorada, who could only speak Spanish but after a few episodes helps them with another Spanish based myth and speaks to both Nick and Juliette in perfect English. I could have used a spackle line that she had taken English lessons with Juliette or something but whatever.
Most of the time though just as I say to myself, wait, shouldn’t this character react to this or that…They do! It is wonderful and refreshing after the substandard games the OUAT writers play with character offscreen development and oh, it was not what you thought and here is a new scene to explain ( like Leo romancing Cora).
I am hesitant though to get into speculation and analysis with Grimm since I just want to continue to enjoy it without thinking up even more things like the spanish lady. All shows have their little mistakes I guess but so far Grimm entertains me enough that my quibbles are few.
I also love the broad racial and cultural eye the show has used in casting and adapting monster stories. There is definitely some subtext about being open minded and in general I feel like morally the protagonists are characters I can be excited to root for in terms of their goals (but with enough ambiguity on the part of some main characters that it is still interesting).

December 3, 2014 at 6:25 pm #292081LaurenParticipantLove the Grimm and I thought Nick and Trubel were related she looks just like a young Nick especially with the short hair…oh and forgot to add a young Mary Elizabeth (Kelly/Nicks Mom) the casting is very very gd if they are if not such a missed opportunity
does anyone think the grimm powers are inherited when there family dies like the troubles in haven ..Nicks powers only seemed to come when his aunt marie died, is there like a rule there can’t be too many grimms? i dunno i had a feeling Josh was going to become a Grimm?
anyways this thread is too bare had to share some quick art from the last ep 🙂
I loved that scene at end and their relationship Trubel has been an excellent addition and quickly becoming my fav.

So guys can we talk about this CAST.
Via @BitsieTulloch ~ Some of the cast got together last night to watch and tweet Grimm.
some that’s pretty much all of them except Reggie Lee aka Wu and Jackie aka Trubel. I love this Cast. They are pretty much family. And they do get together like this often. Just chilling, tweeting, and have their own version of the Ranch.
