Hey, everyone! Being in chat so often, I love hearing everyone’s preferences in books and movies. From Star Wars and Frozen to Harry Potter and I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings, we all have our favorite preferences in books and film.

This is why, to pass along the time during the hiatus, I want to start a forum book/film club! We all agree on both a movie and book and, every two weeks, we discuss what we’ve read/watched. I’m still working out how we’ll figure out how to manage the following weeks, but I wanted to post this thread to see if a.) if you guys are interested in one and b.) what would your first-week book/film choices would be?

I hope to get this started the week after the winter finale, so post here what you guys would like!

I say that the first movie, should be the LOTR trilogy in honor of the last Hobbit movie.

Great idea! But I have a question. Do you want to discuss a book made into a movie or just any book and any movie? Current movies, in theaters today, or on dvd? (netflix, hulu etc.). Two weeks is a short period of time to fit in a book especially a trilogy :). You might have to limit the size of the book.

Great questions! Here are some (TENTATIVE, SUBJECT TO CHANGE) guidelines:

    1. The books and movies cannot be more than one. If it’s a series, we could always continue during the next cycle, but we’ll limit it to one for now.

    2. They can be different books and movies. I’m thinking that, every few cycles, we can always have the movie be an adaptation of the book, but it’s generally separate.

    3. No movies within the last six months, books within the last three months.

BUMMER … no movies within the last 6 months? I am going to see INTO THE WOODS when released… to me that would be perfect.

I mean, I wouldn’t mind about newer movies. However, some people might not have the money to spend on seeing the latest release. That’s what this thread is for, to see what others  want! 🙂
