So I googled fairytales that have a a peddler in them. I mostly got pages for Snow White (the evil queen transforms into a peddler woman) but I got an interesting hit… Its called the Peddler Of Swaffham. Longshot but its a fairytale from England (isn’t Cruella from England? London? Whatever >>) I’ll link it, but yeah, no, I think this guy is the Author and I could imagine that peddler story being his….kind of….. for some reason *shrug*

Could be. Or brother, cousin, step-mothers’s secrets sister’s neighbor 😛 *shrug* But what I was getting at was in the story the guy dreams of like future things… So maybe he is the author? Perhaps he had visions of all the stories and wrote them down perhaps? Idk…. my crack theory engine is running on empty.

A peddler is someone who travels from place to place selling goods. What better person to collect tales than someone who travels extensively. You can’t write about the goings-on throughout many kingdoms if you’re sitting in a village hovel or a castle tower. You need to be out collecting tales or witnessing it firsthand. A peddler moving around all the time would be a perfect cover.

Not that a peddler hasn’t served as the storyteller for a Disney film, either. The most obvious example is the peddler from Aladdin, who opens up the film. There’s also Clopin, King of the Gypsies, from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, who serves a similar role.

Fischler’s character comes across as well-intentioned but is actually a quick-witted, arrogant man with reckless impulses. He will appear in both fairytale land and Storybrooke. Fischler will also recur on Season 2 of HBO’s Silicon Valley as Professor Bannercheck, a very serious academic glowing with self-satisfaction who has relocated himself and family to help the guys at Hooli. Once Upon a Time resumes Season 4 with Episode 13 on Sunday, March 1, at 8/7c.

I agree with this one. Peddler could be the writer’s way of disguising the identity of the real character this actor will play. Or perhaps the Author disguises himself as a peddler, selling magic potions and stuff? Perhaps this peddler is from our world and discovers how to give the character’s in folk tales, legends and myths consciousness and create their worlds for them?
