Something wicked (again) this way comes.

Rebecca Mader is back on set this week at ABC’s Once Upon a Time, to reprise her role as Zelena AKA the Wicked Witch of the West, TVLine has learned.

No details are available about Mader’s return, except that she will appear in flashbacks at some point during the second half of Season 4.

ABC’s Once Upon a Time resumes Season 4 on Sunday, March 1.

Hmm, interesting. My guess, maybe this has something to do with Outlaw Queen. I feel like the last couple of episode after 4×17 might center more heavily on that relationship and Zelena was Regina’s villain from 3B.

Interesting. Are these going to be Oz flashbacks or missing year flashbacks? Or perhaps something to do with Walsh if Walsh returns? It’s unlikely but not impossible.

    I’m thinking missing year flashbacks.

Well, I think one of the spoiler filming pics for this current episode (4×17), showed Robin turning up at Walsh’s shop in NY. But Walsh is dead, so…

Interesting. Walsh was the Great and Powerful Oz and a collector of magical objects, so I wonder if maybe Rumple took over Walsh’s shop in NYC. Maybe there is something magical in Walsh’s shop to help Robin and Rumple locate SB?

    But Walsh is dead, so…

Is he? Granted, we saw him plummet from a building and poof into magic dust, but that doesn’t mean dead does it? As is often cited in TV land, “No body equals no death.”

    I’m thinking missing year flashbacks.

    Could be.

Another possibility is that Zelena will show up in some flashback to do with Regina. The flashback could also relate back to the Author, since Zelena was Regina’s half-sister, and Regina is currently trying to rewrite her story…

I literally could not care less about Zelena. She was an obnoxious, shrill, useless character who’s whole arc failed on every front. They are only bringing her back because they love Bex.

That makes sense. Rumple’s collecting objects to find a way back to Storybrooke.

Here’s a related article about Rebecca Mader’s return.

I’m honestly confused as to what’s supposed to be happening in 4B. Is every villain that’s ever been on the show coming back since they’re a “villain and villains don’t get happy endings”?

If it’s a missing year flashback, I don’t know how it could tie into this story since that was heavily centered on the group. There wasn’t any talk about the concept of heroes and villains during that time.

My best guess is that it’s an alternate timeline, but even then I don’t know how that would fit.

No matter what, at least @WickedRegal will be happy…

I hope we don’t see every villain coming back. If they the idea is that the villains are getting their happy endings then that screws things up for the heroes big time. Zelena’s happy ending would be writing Regina out of existence. Cora’s happy ending was being queen with Leopold so Snow, Emma and Henry would be out of existence. Pan’s happy ending would be getting the heart of the truest believer and becoming immortal so Henry would be dead. Pan’s happy ending would contradict Cora’s. Unless the writers are trying to point out you can’t just write a happy ending but have to earn it, then chaos is going reign in Storybrooke.

Well, we won’t know anything until we get spoiler pics. That will hopefully (but usually) it will give us more context in which place we’ll see her. Flashback to me says Enchanted Forest but there could also be a missing flashback from her wicked terror from 3B in Storybrooke.
