I think at this point in Snow’s life when she makes this decision she doesn’t have any examples of people overcoming darkness once they start down that road.
you mean like Snow herself who took a potion to forget Charming, went after the Evil Queen with every intention to kill her and would be doomed to become equally evil but was only pulled back because of Charming’s unwavering love and loyalty and the choice he made to stand by her and help her through her “heart of darkness”?
