The Author (Patrick Fischler) is the most wanted person in Storybrooke, but it turns out no one wants to find him more than Cruella de Vil (Victoria Smurfit).
Sunday’s (April 19) episode of “Once Upon a Time” will reveal the backstory of the show’s most glamorous villain. Smurfit reveals to Zap2it ahead of time that the Author plays a major part in how Cruella became the de Vil and why she’s in town looking for her happy ending.

What does the author have against Cruella? What’s her big secret?

I have a theory that he used his magic to control her actions (like he did with the Apprentice) so he could keep her with him somewhat against her will, since he seems like a total creeper from what we’ve seen of him so far. I mean, he did take pleasure from sending a baby through a portal to a world where she would be alone, so it would fit his character to be a predator too imo.

Her happy ending could be him – dead. Which wouldn’t bode well for everyone else in SB.

Hmm, that’s really dark. I would almost say too dark even for this show.

Given this show’s track history she is probably a spurned woman. We have them almost every season. He promised her the world and love and then he ran and broke her heart and she went evil. @Felie what you’re suggesting is over the dark line for this show. He didn’t take pleasure in sending a baby–he took pleasure in how it was a better story. He wants the best story; not necessarily to harm children, just in that case the two coincided.

I don’t think that would be over the top dark. I think we’ve had worse on the show. Essentially it’s the Regina/Graham dynamic but with the genders reversed.

All magic comes with a price!
