STAR WARS promo #2 ….. on YOU Tube

So I’ve watched this trailer three times and all three times after watching, I just had ‘meh’ reaction. The third time I watched with my boyfriend and his roommates, they had a bigger reaction than me.

I just sat on the bed and was like, still can’t get excited about this movie and I think I know why.

It’s because the books are not canon anymore. All the expanded universe characters and stories that were written in novel format now are no longer relevant because Disney basically said, we’re creating our own universe and everything else is not canon anymore. And that makes me feel bad for the writers who worked on the books.

I didn’t read all of the books but I did enjoy some of them and I accepted them as canon because they were!

And as a fanfic writer, who wrote a bit in EU, it feels like a slap in the face honestly.

Anyway, I would be shocked if the books are referenced in any way in this movie; but not likely.

It is however accepted canon among the fandom that Han and Leia are married. If that’s not there, you mine as well not have any more movies. (which I wouldn’t be sad about, to be honest).

But what would be funny if some of the characters, looked like some of the characters from the EU books but had different names. And those characters had the same personality characteristics as maybe the AU EU counterparts.

Mara Jade is not Mara Jade but someone else, but she still has red hair and a purple/pink lightsaber.

Jaina Solo is not Jaina Solo but she’s still a pilot and can use the Force.
