So Rumplestiltskin can die. But the Dark One can’t? And that powerful dark energy will over take him? Did I get that right?

Discuss. That’s pretty close to a lot of headcanons, I know.

I think this is about right. I wonder if the name on the daggar would change if all of Rumple’s humanity is gone.

I still am not sure if that means the Dark One force will leave Rumple’s body or that the sentient being Rumplestiltskin will be gone and all that will remain is the Dark One.

Oh good question. Would the name on the dagger just be “The Dark One” or would the dagger no longer have a name because the DO would no longer be tied to it?

or that the sentient being Rumplestiltskin will be gone and all that will remain is the Dark One.

    I think it’s that one.

I was under that impression. Doesn’t Rumple say something like “You don’t want to have the Dark One around when no one is home” (meaning its human host, presumably)?

So this brings up the next question. What IS the Dark One without the “desperate soul” it has saddled? It doesn’t look like it’s a parasite that simply dies with the host. Does it have intent? Or is it just a kind of elemental force of chaos? Theories?

Pure evil and chaos, mostly. It’s Emma’s true opposite I guess.

Question: in tonight’s episode, the Author says that his Ink must be fueled by Emma’s blood. So…how was he able to write anything pre-Emma’s birth?

It goes back to what Ursula said in “Poor Unfortunate Souls.” How Emma was the one who gave people their happy endings in Storybrooke, so the Author couldn’t do so here without her blood. The ink probably didn’t require savior blood back in FTL.

I’m thinking that the dark one force will actually leave his body and create a destructive black hole which sucks in all light and goodness.
