I require information on Once Upon a Time‘s Camelot crowd! –Meredith
This casting notice would seem to apply: For Season 5’s fourth episode, Once is guest-casting the role of a medieval manservant who is devoted to his employer but harbors a deep resentment… that may lead him to do very bad things.If there’s anything you can tell me about Once Upon a Time, specifically on Emma being the new Dark One? –Sarah

So I am taking that to mean someones words here havea hidden meaning. Hmmmmm.
Im going with Either Lana’s “twisted fate” to mean there is literally some weird fate doings going on (was it foretold Emma was to be the Dark Swan? Was it orchestrated by Merlin?)

I keep thinking that episode 4 is going to be Merlin centric (titled The Sorcerer to go along with 404 “The Apprentice) so maybe this is OUAT’s take on Archimedes, the owl?

I like the idea that this could be the original Dark One.
Making my guess that it’s Mordred, devoted to Arthur but resentful of his beliefs or treatment of certain people.

I agree. It would be unusual not have Mordred in some form who is normally depicted as being against team Arthur.

It would be odd if this was a strictly Arthurian show that could play with the entire myth and legend. But at some point we need to ask how many influx of characters they should have before the core characters get drowned out (see for example S4A). We have the big three: Arthur, Guinevere, and Merlin. We also have Percival and Lancelot, the latter at least for one episode. There are scores of characters in the Arthurian mythos and we don’t need them all. This is to say nothing of the fact that we don’t know where in the cycle of Arthur and his legend we are come show time. Lancelot and Guinevere have parted, and Camelot seems to be cut off from everyone. The fact that Guinevere and Lancelot have parted and Gwen is still with Arthur suggests that they aren’t going full on tradition, so they could easily skip Mordred.

Arthur & Robin Hood (Arthur is wearing a belt with a lion on it, and Lions are on his flags. Robin has a Lion Tattoo.)
Lancelot & Snow White (I guess based on 2×03)
Lancelot & Belle (This is just a total guess, but would be interesting.)
Merlin & Zelena (I don’t know why, but I’ve got my suspicion they’ve crossed paths before)
Guinevere & Regina (Some form of relative from Henry Sr’s line….maybe cousins.)
