Do you know who possesses the Dark Swan’s dagger on Once Upon a Time?— Rachel
As of this very moment, it’s TBD. “That is a discussion [and] that is absolutely addressed immediately,” Ginnifer Goodwin says, noting that it’s probably not a great idea for the Charmings to be the one to take it. “I don’t know that I would trust us with it,” she adds. However, whoever does end up with the dagger will learn that it’s not so easy to call upon the Dark Swan. “There’s also some caveats in how and when you can control the Dark One through the dagger,” Josh Dallas says. “Somethings can be possible and somethings are impossible.”

    Um. What?

    I’m sorry but WHAT.

Emma not trust her parents after everything they just went through, after Emma asked them to find a way to remove the darkness, after she knows that they would literally DO ANYTHING FOR HER and “I don’t know that I would trust us with it.”

    I’m sorry but WHAT

I’m sorry, but to ensure that no major battle breaks out between SwanQueen and CaptainSwan, it’s best if neither Regina nor Hook possess that dagger. Snowing is literally the only logical explanation, unless they hand it over to Belle. Don’t blow Season 5 as you did Season 4 Adam and Eddy!

    Um. What?

I think Ginnifer’s quote was more about the recent “the ends justify the means” plotline. Snow and Charming might now be at the stage where they don’t trust themselves to make good decisions.

The best person to have the dagger would be Henry. Heck, I actually wouldn’t mind if Belle had it.

There are a couple ways to go about it. Keeping it with one person is probably not a good idea because it makes that one person a target. The best move would be to devise a way so that the dagger switches people ever few hours or something. So Snow passes it to Grumpy who passes it to Granny to passes it to Blue who passes it Hook who passes it to Belle who passes it Charming and so on and so forth. It keeps the Dark Swan on the run trying to intercept the dagger before it is passed off while making her angry and therefore more likely to make a mistake. What they shouldn’t do is keep it to one person because Emma will eventually figure out who has it and go after that one person–be it Snow, Charming, Hook or Henry–more focused and on her game, so to speak.

I’m more interested in this part. It almost sounds like Emma’s Dark One is what Season 4 Rumple  wanted. The power, but without being controlled by the Dagger. Which just makes her that much more sinister. Maybe it’s because of how she became the Dark One.

Gonna be “can’t control/summon the Dark One if they’re in another realm” like I’ve predicted earlier.

But would any of that even be necessary? If one person has the dagger and Emma is in SB they could just command her to behave or something like “Emma I forbid you from trying to get this dagger.” With the method to control Emma she isn’t as much a threat becase whoever has it in their possession can control her.
UNLESS with Emma being TL incarnate it prevents her from being controlled by it but that would only raise the question of why she’d want the dagger? Although we have seen the dagger used for a few things like opening the hat so maybe she wants it for some kind of spell
