Do you have details on the Once Upon a Time episode featuring Merida, Mulan and Ruby? — Natasha
Much will be revealed during the outing, which takes place during the two-parter slated to air during November sweeps. “We’re going to get to see more of Merida’s backstory in it,” EP Edward Kitsis says. “It’s an epic adventure.” As for how Mulan and Ruby factor into that, Horowitz teases coyly, “You will have fun and adventure,” he says. “We do address where Ruby has been all this time, and that’s part of the story.”

Either this will evolve into an LGBT Love Triangle or Ruby will push Merida and Mulan together.

Or maybe Merida will push Ruby and Mulan together.

I too think its more likely to be Ruby and Mulan, because we honestly don’t know if Merida will stay into the 2nd half of the Season. The Frozen characters left after 4A, so what’s so the same won’t happen to Merida after 5A? Nor do we know how much freedom the writers have with the character. Disney and Pixar may not allow them to give Merida any love interest at all, male or female. From a writer’s perspective, Merida would make a lot of sense, but still I have my doubts based on what I said.

See, that’s why I think it will be Merida. They want to silence the critics who are calling them out on not doing non-heterosexual love stories, but they don’t want to actually explore it with any real depth. Having one half of the new shiny ship go live on Forgotten Character Island makes sense. They can have Mulan say, “oh Merida is off doing such and such” (being Queen of her newly healed, no longer warring kingdom, as a for instance)

I agree with Matt but think that Ruby and Mulan will be sent back to forgotten character island so that the relationship doesn’t have to be explored in great detail, so in that regard I agree with RG.

They keep saying that there will be an explanation as to where Ruby has been. I just hope they remember that she was in Storybrooke during 3B and don’t go for the ‘She never came back after the Missing Year curse’.

And I’m also placing cookies on Ruby & Mulan. I agree that Merida would make the most sense but from all the BTS photos we’ve gotten, Meghan and Jamie seem the most close (physically and literally).
