There are things that would make interesting stories but that we’ll never know. For example
1) who was Merlin running from?
2) Where was he born? What was his early life like/his family like?
3) what did he do for those first 800 years?
4) Why did he chose that boy as an apprentice?
5) did he give the apprentice long life?
6) did he create any other realms?
7) did he really never give into the darkness?
