So right in the middle of this big dramatic scene, of opening a portal to Hell via a pond … a pair of ducks swim by! 😆
Which was random, and incongruously mundane. And it took me out of the dramatic moment, because I found it hilarious!
And also, why specifically that pond? Yes, I know water is life, and still water is death, and that was very still water. But the darkness said that the portal had always been in that spot, even before the Fury and Charon showed up. Why? That pond wasn’t even “always” there. Is it the counterpart to some EF pond/portal, that the curse brought over? Why is there even a portal to Hell?
Yes, I know the answer is “plot”, but I still have to ask, LOL. 😛

Basically lol.
It made me feel weird that the portal was always there as well and to such a specific place like Hell of all places. I would have preferred that maybe Hook had to do some magical mumbo jumbo to create the portal rather than it always having been there.
I didn’t notice the ducks but who knows, maybe it’s foreshadowing

I thought it was strange that this pond we have never ever seen is suddenly a gateway to hell that was always there. There were plenty of people who have died on this show… do they all go on a boat ride across the lake? The writers are so bad at foreshadowing. I feel like they just come up with this stuff on a whim. There are so many things that could have been a gateway to hell. I would have LOVED to see Regina’s mausoleum with some sort of secret that opens up the path to hell. But NOOOOO. we get this duck pond we have never seen before.
