Inspired by Jo’s thread about the Top 10 Books that have impacted you, I got to thinking about the top 10 TV shows that have impacted me. Here’s my list. What are yours? No overthinking!

This is hard because I watch *so much* TV, but mine are….

    1. Mad Men

    2. Once Upon A Time (for better or for worse, there’s no denying the huge place it has had in my life)

    3. Doctor Who

    4. The West Wing

    5. Buffy the Vampire Slayer

    6. Star Trek (any and all, really, but it’s TOS and DS9 that have the strongest holds on my heart)

    7. Friends

    8. The Big Bang Theory

    9. LOST

    10. M*A*S*H

    1. Once Upon a Time (Regina’s journey, specifically).

    2. X-Files (Opened my mind up to the possibility of power behind governments).

    3. Breaking Bad (Made me realise that not all things are black and white. Good people can do bad things to protect those they love to the detriment of themselves).

And that’s it really. Books influence me more than TV programmes.

    1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer

    2. Firefly

    3. Lost

    4. Once Upon a Time

    5. Millennium (a totally obscure spin-off of the X-Files that I doubt anyone but me here watched)

    6. Twin Peaks

    7. Battlestar Galactica

    8. Orphan Black

    9. Mad Men

    10. House MD

    1. Once Upon a Time (Like RG, I have much…rage…but it has brought me a great group of friends.)

    2. Friends

    3. The Office

    4. Facts of Life

    5. Brady Bunch

    6. Days of Our Lives

    7. Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers (They were always shown together on my PBS. I’m considering them a package deal.)

    8. Jeopardy

    9. Saved by the Bell

    10. WWF Professional Wrestling (okay this is a really odd choice and I haven’t watched it in decades but I have to put it on the list. My siblings and cousins were so into it, my bedroom–I shared–had wresting posters on it, and Wrestle Mania 1 was a huge event in my house. And I may or may not have performed or had performed on me body slams, half nelsons, full nelsons, headlocks, …)

Okay this was waaaaay too hard, but I tried to pick shows that really impacted me and different aspects of my life and not just which shows are in my opinion the top ten best TV Shows.

    In no particular order:

    1. Dr. Who – I am come on, of course it is in this list!
    2. Glee – I was in show choir in high school, was president of my college glee club (not a show choir) and I met my partner of 10+ years in choir, so yes this corny goofy show really gets to me even with its unrealistic depictions of high school students and over the top productions.
    3. OUAT – As someone who grew up on Disney I instantly became hooked on this show (for better or worse lol)
    4. Parks and Recreation – probably one of my favorite comedy shows. I would have put 30 Rock here as it is a bit more witty, but P&R edges it out because this is my go to need-something-to-watch-with-my-partner-and-unwind show.
    5. Game of Thrones – I didn’t get into the book series until after I watched the first season but now I am obsessed with it!
    6. Charmed – my go to show in high school
    7. Freak and Geeks – why was this only one season?!
    8. Bill Nye the Science Guy/ Magic school bus – I couldn’t decide between these two – both got me interested in space and science as a kid.
    9. The Crocodile Hunter – this show got me to love nature shows and a drive to travel and see the world.
    10. Arrested Development
