Hook gave his life to stop the Darkness, after being the Dark One and threatening the lives of everyone around him. Was his turn back to the light earned? Should Emma and team SB go rescue him? What did you think, overall, of Hook’s storyline these past few episodes.

I’m conflicted…though my heart does go out to Emma, that scene where she was falling apart was very sad.

December 6, 2015 at 10:52 pm #313709RumplesGirlKeymasterAlso, Emma plans on giving Hook half her heart in order to bring him back to life? Is there like a… expiration date when that wont work? I mean Snow split her heart moments after Charming died, but I assume it’s going to take awhile to find Hook?

I took what Emma said about splitting her heart with Hook’s to avoid having to pay with another life.

He was pretty mad that Emma hadn’t just let him die.
Now he’s said he wanted to do something heroic and gave up his life.
And Emma wants to go bring him back from the dead again, thus undoing his heroic, redemptive sacrifice.
I hope *twitch* when she gets there he tells her to bugger off and leave him be.
December 7, 2015 at 11:00 am #313810OnyxParticipantI know it’s supposed to be romantic and all, but I think Emma is being very… what’s the word… disregarding everyone’s wishes and feelings. She let Neal die (to be a hero???/stay dead), she made that decision about Neal’s life. She convinced Rumple to take the potion. Yes you could argue that she told Rumple everything and that it was his decision to take the potion, however, she actively tried to persuade him to do that. In her mind Neal’s death was a great sacrifice that should be kept that way. And now she keeps deciding that she wants Hook to live. He asked her to let him go, but she didn’t. He makes this sacrifice and still she can’t respect that. It feels a little controlling to me. I know it’s the plot making her act this way. Neal had to stay dead because he wasn’t a popular enough character, Hook has to stay alive because he is a popular character, but yeah…

Her plan is to split her heart and share half of it with Hook. Yet, as we saw with Snow and Charming, Regina shoved half of Snow’s heart into Charming’s lifeless body; there was no need to retrieve Charming’s soul from the Underworld in order to resurrect him. Aside from plot-driven reasons, why does Emma need to descend to the Underworld to retrieve Hook’s soul when all she had to do was split her heart in half and shove it into Hook’s corpse, which she had right there in SB? Moreover, getting back Hook’s immaterial soul (or whatever) makes NO sense either, because her heart is a physical substance which needs to be put into a physical vessel; putting a physical heart into a non-physical spirit makes no sense. *head desk*

That’s a really good point. Maybe it’s because Hook was the Dark One at the time so his soul went to the Underworld automatically.
Or …PLOT. Of course it’s PLOT.

The writers could have easily addressed this by having Hook’s body taken to the Underworld by Charon, rather than burying his corpse in Storybrooke.
