What we saw in the AU was happening slowly one by one.
It’s happening this season: Rumple as a hero (it did happen for part of the season), with Belle and a son. And, in the end, even in the AU Rumple made the wrong choice.
Then, we had CS falling in love in the AU and Killian dying (unchecked). It wasn’t permanent yet, probably not until next season or two.
James mentioned in the AU (supposedly Snow’s lost love so she settled for the twin), and him
appearing the Underworld (check).Also, I can see Lily developing friendship with Snowing and their frineds (The Dwarfs, Red, Granny, Jiminny, and Blue). Like how she showd loyalty and teamwork with them in the AU.
Robin and Regina apart, and him marrying Zelena, while Regina ended the story *alone* (since Robin didn’t fall in love with her in the AU)
and dying. The twist is, they are going to make his death as paying the price for being *saved* by magic, but Robin only died, in the first place so that Regina wouldn’t, so, we are back to the AU again.Not to mention the AU forshadows Regina’s heroic death (alone). It is *obvisouly* not happening this season, but I’m pretty sure it will happen by the end of the show. It was only postponed.

I was talking about the one from season 4. The one that Isaac Heller wrote, before Henry erased everything and became the new author.
AU generally means “Alternate Universe”, so in this case it was the new book that Isaac put everyone into in last season’s finale. 🙂

Ahh, some interesting observations. I wonder if A&E did this on purpose. It does not align perfectly, but you definitely can see some similarities there.
I don’t know how much it will matter in the end of this season, but good work on making these parallels. I really appreciate foreshadowing.
The season 4 finale may be my most neglected episode, so i may need to go back and watch again.
