Can we talk about the fact that Gaston’s family name means “bean”? Because legume = bean, so: Lord Bean! 😆

Does this mean something? And if so, what??

Cause this is a show where names usually mean something, something significant about the person. But this one seems out of the blue. So what does it mean?

Are they implying that his father or his family acquired their wealth / kingdom / army via … magic bean?!? 😮

I thought it was hysterical … just look what Wikipedia has to say: Legume https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/… … A legume (/ˈlɛɡjuːm/ or /ˌləˈɡjuːm/) is a plant in the family Fabaceae (or Leguminosae), or the fruit or seed of such a plant. Legumes are grown agriculturally, primarily for their grain seed called pulse, for livestock forage and silage, and as soil-enhancing green manure … VERY FITTING LOL

Gaston’s surname was LeGume in the original screenplay for Beauty and the Beast. I have to admit that’s quite a clever thing for the writers to actually research and use. Legume is also the French word for vegetable. You can hear it here in this clip from the DVD special features, about 4:42 in:

Interesting Matt! I’ll be sure to point that out Wednesday.
