Belle put herself under a sleeping curse and expects that her father will wake her up, not Rumple? Anyone else think Belle is trying to out-trick the Trikster and force Rumple’s hand to become a good man by denying his own “fairy tale” end? Will it really be Moe or will it be Rumple?

I think Belle was sincere in not trying to trick him into that; she really believes her father can save her and the baby. But this was a bad idea because it stops her character development (and screentime, which may have been part of the decision-making here–Emilie DID need some maternity leave). They’ve set it up so both needed to bend to make this work…and now they’re back to All or Nothing for Rumple.
This is leading to exactly that choice–he’ll have to choose Belle or Power once and for all. And while I’m excited about that…I think it’s problematic that she’s still making ultimatums and not growing as a person until she’s woken now.

Belle really is trying to kill two birds with one stone with this one, not only stop Hades but also get Rumple to let go of that dark magic once and for all.

April 17, 2016 at 9:52 pm #321612RumplesGirlKeymasterI don’t think Belle is being genuine. I think she’s trying to trick Rumple into choosing–and that’s super problematic because how does that not cause resentment down the road?

Really??? I can’t even begin to suspect Belle of being that….. sneaky…. I don’t believe it. Although I do believe it will go that way, I don’t believe she is trying to force Rumple to be who she wants. I think Belle would not see that as a genuine thing. He has to choose the light himself. Not be forced into it.

Belle’s in a bad place right now–she just learned that her husband sold her child before they ever created it, her husband took back the DO powers just when he was free of them, and her husband killed her ex as well as his…and then because of all that SHE had to doublekill her ex which is serious trauma for her, plus her baby is STILL in danger and she’s not exactly thinking clearly. We know how far she was willing to go years after she accidentally hurt Anna.
She’s not trying to manipulate Rumple here. She’s doing a very, very silly thing to try to protect her baby from a new danger that has her terrified in this situation. I don’t think it’s entirely out of character and I don’t think she’s trying to control anything except for Hades’ ability to take her child from her.
I do think it was a very stupid writing decision, however. The couple was making actual progress toward a place where they could reconcile…and that’s been stopped cold by one party being out of the picture.

Well, remember who played her in Descendants…
So, if Rumpel kisses her, and it works, would there be a double rainbow because of his curse, or…
April 18, 2016 at 12:05 am #321637AgleptaParticipantLet’s be real, assuming it is TLK that wakes her up and not some other random new magic rule that never existed before, it is going to be Rumple. It is way too anticlimactic to have Belle’s father wake her up, this is going to be the way to reform Rumple and get him to save Belle. I can’t see the show resolving this any other way. While stranger things have happened, I can’t see the show passing on a TLK opportunity like this for one of show’s main couples (even if they do have a rocky relationship.)

April 18, 2016 at 1:17 am #321638RumplesGirlKeymasterOh I agree it would be really anticlimatic for it to not be Rumple. That seems fairly straight forward.
So…then here’s a question: Rumple being forced into giving up his darkness….is that enough? He hasn’t changed his perspective. He still loves the dagger; he still wants those powers. It’s just that this one time, he put Belle first. But is that enough to resist the allure forever? He’s still the Dark One and a man who makes terrible (if human) choices.

1st Question: Didnt the paps in SB, said that a double for Belle filmed with Rumple, before the scene of him and Pan put some bad on Zelena head? Or was that all a decoy to pretend emilie was still filming?
2nd question: If the 1st question was a decoy or confusion, if Rumple takes Belle to NY, aka, Land without magic, wouldnt the sleeping curse be gone? or would still be on, even tho there is supposed to not exist magic in NY? Meaning he can try to find a solution, before they go back to SB. Of course, that RB can also kiss, they can go to NY bc he no longer has his powers so he thinks he safer in NY than in SB
Bc im not seeing them taking Rumple powers, they did that on S5a and they still gave him his powers back, bc in the end of the day, present Rumple without powers is not something they know how to write and for them makes him not be interesting and even important to the story, so if RB would have any TLK would have to be only on last season and maybe even last episode, bc for TLk work, Rumple has to not want his powers anymore, something i dont think he wants to give up.
