So…Rumple is going to use the dead ashes of Zeus to remake the Crystal and…what? Take over SB?
Can he ever waken Belle? Can he ever really change? Is he even a good character anymore?

Rumple: “I’m the DO and I love it. Haters gonna hate”
*Belle puts self in sleeping curse*
Rumple: “Moe, Imma need you to wake up your daughter”
Moe: “LOLZ Nope”
Rumple: “Kay, I tried. Imma go take over the world now.”
Whatever.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 8, 2016 at 9:57 pm #323032kpercymanParticipantI’m going to say it again: it doesn’t make sense…..the death of Neal was the downfall. I didn’t believe it, but it’s true. No one learns.
Rumple: I do what I want. You might have thought I stayed the DO to find my son, but that was a lie. I like power, because I used to be a coward. In reality I am still a coward because I can’t be a normal man and wake my true love. So I’m going to take this shiny stick an rule the world. Zeus can’t do anything because I have a pointy glowing nub.
May 8, 2016 at 10:50 pm #323043TheWatcherParticipantYeah Rumple might as well just grow a twiddly mustache and done a cape from now on because he is just a villain with no depth, no reasons, no real motives other “I like power for the evulz”.
As RG said: Whatever.

This. 3B used to be my least favorite arc. Now Season 5 is my least favorite SEASON. Season 4 gave us some great villains (Ingrid, Ursula, and Cruella), but that’s it.
So, to rank:
S1
WL
2A
3A
4B
4A
2B
3B
5A
5BI need a S1 and WL rewatch.

S4 was a masterpiece compared to S5 and I never thought I would say that. How did they go from such a promising start at the beginning of the season to this horrible mess? Why are they more concerned about fanservice (Hook, Zelena, Disney) and less about telling a good coherent story?

May 9, 2016 at 9:02 am #323113RumplesGirlKeymasterI mean what exactly is Rumple going to do?? And how is this Crystal going to help him? What does it do outside of kill people?

It “obliterates” them – destroys their soul forever I think. Basically it’s a fate worse than death. Even if that’s all it does, I would imagine that’s a pretty useful weapon to wield in the OUAT world, where death is reversible. The Charmings would know that if they crossed Rumple they couldn’t fix things by charging down to the UW to bring back one of their own.
May 9, 2016 at 9:45 am #323120AKAParticipantI don’t know if he is a good character anymore. I have loved Rumple from the beginning and was even able to rationalize season 4. I think he became very lost after Bae died and has never found the road again. I think he believes Bae died because he did not have power and could not stop it, which is why he is craving power so much in season 4. All he has left is Belle, so if he has all the power no one can take her away from him. I think that was his thought process in Season 4A and when that didn’t work he tried having the author rewrite the story where he and Belle had a happy ending. What is his motivation at the end of season 5? Maybe they want Rumple to just be a one dimensional character whose only motivation is power? I think that is a horrible idea, the greatest strength Once has is taking characters who are supposed to be villains and making them sympathetic. They loose most of the magic when they take multi-dimensional characters and make them flat. I hope they will show Rumple’s motivation but I doubt it. Very disappointed.
May 9, 2016 at 10:28 am #323126RumplesGirlKeymasterRumple wants all ze power; I get that this is what the writers want as his motivation but for the most part he generally seems annoyed with the Charmings and SB in general. He even wanted to flee with Belle and Henry when Ingrid was about to cast her Spell of Shattered Sight. He’s never had any “ruling” ambitions; just a desire to have as much as he can to protect the ones he loves (and because power lets him control his own fate and life). So where does this whole “kingdom” thing even come from? He wants to rule over SB and have control over life and death? As the Dark One he kinda already had that–he could kill anyone at anytime, but he’s always chosen not to because while the pesky heroes annoy him, he also used to consider them family (remember when he saved Charming in S3A ) and because the Rumple of S1 used to admire heroes like Charming, secretly wishing he could be more like the knight in shinning armor but believing he wasn’t capable because he was so unlovable. THAT’s the dynamic of Rumple and what made him so compelling. I don’t even know what he is now.
