ParticipantSo the Oracle died tonight (R.I.P – we barely knew ya!).
It appears as if she wasn’t Jafar like we all suspected.
Time to place your cookies. Who killed her? Why did they kill her? Or will the writers forget that there was a murder and never mention her again?

ParticipantDidn’t Evil Queen confess to it when she kidnapped Archie? She was looking for Emma’s secret, but the Oracle didn’t tell her?

ParticipantDid she? I must have missed it. I’ll have to go rewatch that scene.

ParticipantHmm, I just checked the transcript, and while the conversation that I remembered is there, it is very much open to interpretation. The text:
Now, Mr. Hyde, before his untimely demise, told me the Oracle gave Emma visions of her future, and she wasn’t willing to tell me about them, so…
It was you.
You killed her.
Well, if that surprises you, you’re not much with reading people.
Probably not good for a therapist.
But since the Oracle is gone, I need information, and you, Cricket, are my only source.
So, Archie assumed that she did it, and EQ was happy to be assigned credit for such an act. But she didn’t actually confirm or deny that she did so, she only confirmed that she would happily have done so.
For all we know, Evil Queen got there too late, and that is why she couldn’t get the information! Maybe she saw who did it, and maybe she didn’t, but either way she is not telling!

ModeratorGood point, SFG! I also found it suspicious that the Oracle was seemingly poisoned by the poison of the Agrabahn Viper. Daniel even brought this up during tonight’s initial reactions.

ParticipantAhh. I interpreted as Archie was referring to visions and it was the Evil Queen killing Emma in them. Not as the Evil Queen killing the Oracle.

ParticipantThe thing is that the fact that we have a corpse that looks like the oracle now does not mean that the oracle was not Jafar before. This body could easily be a distraction, after Jafar has decided that his disguise and relationship with Jasmine now has no value and he wants to return to his own agenda.

KeymasterThat’s a good point SFG! I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a fake out. There were so many clues that the Oracle was Jafar.

ParticipantI’m starting to wonder if perhaps we were wrong about the whole Jafar/Oracle thing. It could however be that the Oracle wasn’t Jafar, but was under Jafar’s control, in the same way that the Sultan was? Or she could just have been the Oracle who was attempting to help Jasmine and nothing more.

ParticipantActually, have we seen the Evil Queen actually kill anyone onscreen yet? She heavily implied that she killed the dragon but didn’t say it outright, and then she also implied she killed the oracle, but again, didn’t say it outright.
Is there something about the doppelgangers being unable to lie or kill? Did we see Hyde actually kill anyone either?
