Was he just saying because he wanted them they were his, or are they actually his? Were they at one time in his possession?
Yes how does Rumple claim ownership? Jafar passed them to Aladdin who passed them to Emma who passed them to Hook who (eventually) dumped them into the sea. Unless Rumple gave them to Jafar but…why??? Rumple *needed* a Savior. Why not destroy a piece of magic that could potentially undo a Savior and rob Rumple of what he needed most?
