but are aware that the ratings are in decline and probably don’t want to leave too much open-ended incase the show takes a bigger nosedive and gets an unexpected cancellation?
I think that’s it. It’s…insurance. Just in case ABC pulls the plug after this year they want to be able to say that they gave answers to some of the bigger questions that people hound them about (Lily’s father, the Black Fairy, ect). Now I don’t think ABC is going to cancel but…insurance.
Funny tho, i never thought Lily father was a major question, bc that story can be mention by for example emma. saying that Lily found her father offscreen, or the black fairy they can have someone saying she died, for me those questions were always minor that can be solve by having one character simply mention it with no need of having episodes just for that, but others more important, they seem to not care about it, like how Philip was saved on s2, and some questions about Home office, Pan having Hnery pic centuries before he was born, how tamara and greg knew who neal was, how did August knew who neal was, how did bae came from NVL to Land without magic, what did neal do after emma, yeah, i know some quest that was never mentioned and made no sense, who was he going to meet at the library in NY, did he knew about LoUS, or how is that his apartment is still there for everyone to use, how is that Zelena knew that Neal and belle wanted to bring Rumple on S3 and i could keep going, for me those are major questions, but since in one case the actors are not available and on the other a certain character has to be forgotten and erased, means they have to answer questions that are actually not even important to the show and like i said they can have simply some random character saying Lily found her father, they are all happy and having someone saying that someone ( or rumple since he so evil)killed black fairy or something like that.
But i also said already, if the show ends this seaosn with everyone happy at grannies, with no new villain and with all villains defeated, i would not say the show would end bad, bc at this point, they are so reusing past stories but with other characters, they reuse dialoge, they retcon stuff, that i dont see how can they have another season without destroying the show, timeline and characters even more, but this is my opinion, im sur many if you think diferently.
