Actually I’ve seen a lot of people starting to turn on Regina fairly so because the lack of balance of everyone in S6 so far compared to her. People have had enough of Regina hogging up the screentime.
Well I’ve seen complaints coming mainly from only one particular section of the fandom, and even ten seconds of Regina screentime is too much for them. Personally, although we love seeing Lana Parrilla knock it out of the park as Mayor Mills & the Evil Queen, even Evil Regals were displeased with how her storyline basically went in the last ten episodes.
If you’re going to devote first half of the season to her, then the least they could have done was do it right. Like Dark Swan, this arc was sort of a letdown because nothing really happened for EQ aside from cursing Snowing and screwing Rumple. If what they wanted to do was focus on Aladdin/Land of Untold Stories, they should have done that, and left the whole splitting apart thing alone. It was too many storylines being handled in a matter of ten episodes, and A&E bit off more than they could chew.
As for the whole whose the more problematic fave, fandom wise, between Hook & Regina…look, we’ve all spent the last six years together in these forums, so we all know everyone’s stance on that situation. And as Matt said, this isn’t technically the right thread to be discussing such a topic, which is such an icy subject, it’s best to be left alone. Every character has their own share of fans who could care less about them, so to each his own.
I’ll definitely keep watching if we get a Season 7. I think they need to wrap up all of the main cast’s storylines by this season’s end – they’ve needed to for quite a while. I think they need a total reset with a brand new cast (perhaps keeping Henry, but as an adult) for the show to successfully continue. Whether they could recapture what the original cast had with a new is up in the air.
My only concern is that I don’t think Henry’s capable of carrying a show, unless they get one heck of a lead actor and revamp his character enough to keep the fans interested. I personally think a way to do this is to redo and parallel the entire Season 1 Regina/Emma/Henry, but make it between Adult Henry/Adult Snowflake/10 year old Girl.
Like, what if Henry actually takes a turn for the worst, and becomes bad. What if it’s Henry who enacts the next dark curse?
