What can be teased about the Black Fairy’s return on Once Upon a Time? What is her goal? — AshMarie
Well, that’s the tricky thing. Once the Black Fairy comes back into the picture, her exact motives are unclear to the residents of Storybrooke. “We don’t entirely know,” Jennifer Morrison tells me. “That’s what makes it even scarier. She’s definitely someone that we know has existed in pure darkness for a very long time and has been the root of a lot of the darkness without us having known that she was the initiator of things, so we do know that, but we don’t know exactly what it is that she wants, or what she’s capable of, or the lengths of which she’s capable, so we’re all in a race to find her, deal with her and cut off any resources she has to darkness.”

And if the characters don’t know, then we as the audience likely won’t know.  So that’s interesting.  They sort of did that with Zelena in her arc in season 3.  We knew she wanted Snowing’s baby but we didn’t know why.  But the difference is that the Zelena arc was for entire half season.  As a result, episodes got old and I remember feeling frustrated not knowing Zelena’s intentions and people going around not even knowing who she was.  But in this case, Black Fairy is coming in much later in the season so keeping her motivations secret could be compelling, especially given it could set us up for the series finale.

If I was a betting girl, I’d wager that whatever the Black Fairy wants has something to do with Rumple and the fact that she didn’t have a life with her son.

I am so surprised they have waited so long to introduce the Black Fairy. I don’t really think that the Blue Fairy is going to be anything interesting in the story anymore. I was hoping, but based on the spoilers and the just complete lack of Blue Fairy, there isn’t going to be anything interesting there. I think we will be lucky if we get one scene between the Blue and Black fairy at this point. The Blue fairy might have tossed the Black fairy out after she did evil, but that was like the least interesting thing that could have happened.
