LMS actually wasn’t a safe cancellation. It was considered a shock, since many predictions had it as certain to be renewed. It still did pretty well, ratings wise. However, it became too expensive for a show that ABC doesn’t own. Especially with Tim Allen’s salary. Plus, I guess they wanted more slots to launch new comedies, since Sundays are clearly out with Idol happening.
