The Disney-owned network has renewed the fairy tale drama for a full 22-episode seventh season amid what is said to be a massive cast reboot. Following news that original star Jennifer Morrison will not be returning, fellow leads Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White) and Josh Dallas (Prince Charming) have also been vocal about their desire to leave the series after its current sixth season.
This will be the official thread for our renewal, please

Additional departures are expected to come following Sunday’s season finale.
The ABC Studios drama is poised to feature a big time jump next season, which will include The Walking Dead alum Andrew J. West and Jane the Virgin’s Alison Fernandez, who will make their debut in the May 14 finale. West is rumored to play an older version of Jared Gilmore’s Henry.
The reboot comes as Once remains a valuable property for ABC. The series, whose live viewership has dwindled to a string of series lows in season six, has a massive SVOD deal with Netflix that is said to be in the eight-figure range. As part of the renewal, ABC and ABC Studios have renegotiated to reduce the show’s license fee and profit participation, with creators/showrunners Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis both signing off on the deal. Season six of the drama averaged a 1.0 among adults 18-49 and 3.3 million total viewers, growing 60 percent and 42 percent, respectively, with seven days of delayed viewing. The series remains a fan-favorite with a strong presence on social media as well as an important extension of the Disney brand, having featured a number of iconic characters during its run.

"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 11, 2017 at 8:01 pm #338283RumplesGirlKeymasterI’m gonna give my very honest opinion:
I think this is a massive mistake. I don’t think it’s going to be the sort of reboot certain fans want, where it fixes the plot holes, the continuity issues, and becomes a family oriented show that focuses on strong women. I think it’s going to be Once Upon a Villain and will continue to meander down the same silly plot threads that we’re already doing. I don’t think they’re going to manage to do anything new because they haven’t done anything new in about 3 years, despite their protestations to the contrary. It’s still run by A and E who have demonstrated that they aren’t bang up show runners. To believe that some sort of reboot is going to fix their writing issues is…nonsensical.
I’m really surprised that we’re getting a full 22 and I’m even more surprised that Bobby signed up for it. I don’t know where this show is going but without the hero side of the family (Charming, Snow and Emma) I’m not sure it’s going anywhere good. We need that balance.
I mean, how exactly do they expect these plots of play out? Regina, Rumple and Hook going off to save the day? Without Emma or Snow or Charming? Really? I don’t really get how that works unless they retool the entire show so that it all takes places in the Wish Realm, and even then that Realm was so nebulous that the novelty wore off right quick.
ABC just wants to keep their money–which I understand because they are a corporation–but really, A and E need to know when to say goodbye.

The thing with reboots is that a lot of people end up tuning in to the first episode (or two) just “to see.” Now, they usually flock elsewhere (look at Sleepy Hollow’s ratings for its final season) but initially people are curious enough to tune in.
So, I’ll say that the opening will get at least a .7, possibly a .8 and go from there.

"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 11, 2017 at 8:29 pm #338288RainbowParticipantAnd this also explains JMo leaving, 22 episodes, no way she would do 22 episodes, she only sign for 1, if they were intended to do a 11 or 13 epis, i could see her appear in more episodes, but with 22 epis, nope.
Also, i big time jump??? so the remain characters will be old, oh dear, so the guy may actually eb adult Hnery and with the casting call of him hopeless, maybe something bad really ended happening to the characters leaving.
"I offended you with my opinion? Ha, you should hear the ones I keep to myself".

Without Snowing, Emma, Belle, Henry.. I highly doubt it.
This reboot makes no sense. So you’re going to get rid of literally every single character that makes these three characters whom they are.
That makes these three characters compelling three dimensional characters. Now they’re just gonna be what?
This is a disaster in the making. What is Regina without Snowing or Henry? What is Rumple without Belle? What is Hook without his freaking wife he just married Emma?
Plus these three characters hate each other and they never interact…this just seems pointless.

Oh I totally agree it’s pointless and stupid. But I also know that I’ll be watching, if only because I’ll be curious. That’s sorta my point.
