After seeing this episode, it’s quite clear that the “Other Realm” that Henry stumbled upon in 7×01, Hyperion Heights is in fact the Wish Realm with the appearance of Wish Hook in 7×02, A Pirate’s Life, Regina finding Drizella at the ruins of a tower in 7×06, Wake Up Call, Wish Hook’s backstory in 7×07, Eloise Gardener and finally Rapunzel/Lady Tremaine’s backstory in this episode as their story is chronicled in Henry’s storybook. The only thing that doesn’t add up is of course the aging as Ella and Drizella should have been in their 50’s when Henry first crossed paths with them as the Wish Realm was only created last season and was 31 years after the curse was supposed to be cast as Emma celebrated her birthday in 6×10, Wish You Were Here in the Wish Realm. Not to mention Anastasia was 14 when she [almost] died. Adding that to 31 and another five years to make Henry 18 and then another three-five years when he meets Ella, that would put an early-mid 20’s Henry in front of a early-mid-fifties Ella, if they really focused on their proper aging, but all-in-all good and interesting episode.

[adrotate group="5"]I think the new Enchanted Forest is not the wish realm. Fake Hook traveled from the wish realm to the Enchanted Forest 2 when he met Gothel and all that. The aging doesn’t really make sense, but i don’t really think they are going to explain it. The wish realm has another Henry, and the split Evil Queen, with the second Robin. It is just a different realm.
I have a different theory. I think it’s the Realm of Darkness from 6B. Those other kids had to have come from somewhere, right? Unless they’re from EF2, the only way they could age with Gideon is if they were kidnapped in rapid succession. I think this could then help explain why Older!Henry and Lucy had flashbacks in “The Final Battle.”

The Evil Queen and Wish Robin are in the Original Enchanted Forest as stated in 6×21 The Final Battle Part I where Zelena and Regina cross paths with her and also in 7×07 Eloise Gardener, in the Wish Realm the Evil Queen sends Hook to a distant realm, but it was still within the parameters off the Wish Realm that had been created in 6×10 Wish You Were Here. If it’s not the Wish Realm then explain how everything that we have seen downy point to it being so.
I think it’s the Realm of Darkness from 6B.
The Dark Realm, which was introduced in 6×10, Wish You Were Here and then seen in 6×16 Mother’s Little Helper aged Gideon rapidly to where he was 28 in less than a day as 6×09 Changelings – 6×12, Murder Most Foul all took place on the same day so there’s no way they would be there as the aging would be really off.

Because the writers want it to be so. That’s really it. The writers have certain things they want to do–Belle dying, Robyn being 25 in order to have a relationship with Alice, Henry growing up, Regina, Emma and Hook looking the exact same as when Henry left home, ect–but they don’t want to puzzle it all out and make it comprehensible. They just wish it to be that way, so it is. Hence Regina’s telltale line in 7×10 about timelines.
Like so many questions on this show, it’s best answered with “PLOT”
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"It being the wish realm doesn’t explain any of these things because the wish realm was exactly like the original Enchanted Forest except Regina was good and the family was evil, Emma was crazy. No one looked like a different person like it does in the Enchanted Fores 2. Being sent to a distant land means to me that Gothel’s tower is in another realm and that realm is the Enchanted Forest 2. They should just give this realm another name. Even just calling it Henry’s Enchanted Forest.
