GENERAL: I liked a lot of tiny things; little moments or quotes that put a smile on my face. The overall story though was a slog. The story of the witches doesn’t really interest me, it’s just plot plot plot. I’m so much more interested in some of the characters like Alice or Drizella. Also, the big reveal was so anticlimactic and feels completely out of left field.

LIKED
–Regina gives Lucy cocoa!
–Rumple fixing the teacup the old fashioned way, with glue. <3
–“I’ve got a fresh can of pepper spray we can try together.”
–“I’ve come to join your little supernatural sewing circle.” Ivy gets great lines.
–Rumple is still Rumple. He still knows everyone and everything. Like, there’s no explanation for why Rumple knows that Facilier wants his dagger or even who Facilier is except that it’s Rumple. And because they’ve built that into his storyline over 6 yrs, I accept it.
–“Every time I do good, it just brings me closer to her [Belle].” There’s my Imp; so glad they’ve kept all the development from “Beauty.”
–Gretel making the log explode into candy gumdrops was incredibly stupid but it absolutely made me break into a smile.
MIXED
–The idea of lanterns guiding Ana and Drizella to each other is sweet but the exposition accompanying it (see below in dislikes) is so heavy handed!
–I’m really hoping Ana is only A guardian and not THE guardian because making a super minor, barely developed character mythologically important is ridiculous writing.
–I can’t tell if it was really cold in the woods during the flashback of if they put Adalaide Kane in a blue tinted lipstick but whatever it was, the color of her lips was really distracting.
–“My gift to you is something I always wish I had: someone who believed I could change.” Um. Her name was Snow White?
DISLIKED
–I wish the show would make an effort to write kids as actual kids. Kids do not talk the way young Anastasia and young Drizella do.
–Captain Hook and Jack are Henry’s best friends because they are the only other two males in the EF 2.0. We have been given next to nothing about their friendship or their time together or anything that draws them together except for circumstances.
–I’m a broken record but Henry and Jacinda are so BLAH together. It’s actually still shocking how woefully miscast Dania was.
–“I guess you underestimated the power of sisterhood.” That line is so unsubtle, it’s painful.
–Aaaaand they just randomly POOF’d Drizella and Anastasia out of HH and out of the story. What exactly is this season even really about?
–I’m becoming increasingly frustrated with the lack of history and context concerning Regina and Facilier.
–Jack being the one to kill the witches is dumb dumb dumb. We have learned almost nothing about him; he’s had a grand total of 10ish minutes of screen time and development. His one significant trait is a plot point (fake Lucy’s dad) instead of an actual characteristic. Why should I care about the murders or the murderer? Like @AKA said, the writers used to be so much better at building these mysteries.
