Ok, so I had to go and rewatch the scene as I haven’t watched since it aired. I noticed that Rumple was angry and showed absolutely no warmth or tenderness towards his father UNTIL AFTER the final twist of the blade when the gold light came out. HG & RG, you are both correct, as both of them seemed to surrender to a love and it was a tender moment.
