Oh, you’re right. I must have missed that as I was skimming. (I’ve read too many spoiler articles to read every detail lol).
Perhaps, because he doesn’t remember who she is, she’ll be able to honestly open up to him in a way that she never was able to before, and through those interactions, he’ll give her hope and inspire her to do and be better, and he’ll come to genuinely care about her. That could build up to a moment where they have a real emotional connection and that will be what breaks the Curse, and gets Henry his memories back.
I like this idea. I sort of hope the way Henry gets his memories back is by Regina giving him a maternal true love’s kiss on the forehead the way Emma did in season 1. After all, she was the one who gave him implanted memories, so it would be sort of fitting for her to be the one to help him remember her.
