It’s getting harder out there. I have a different interpretation of the show before me. Is that so bad? Why am I suddenly delusional? *sigh* Anyway
There is nothing wrong about having a different interpretation, since I think both CS and SF fans have valid points. Both Neal and Hook were clearly introduced as suitors for Emma. So, people are going to look at certain things and make different conclusions about romantic relationships based on those things. Last year, people who ship CS were often told they were delusional by a lot of fans; they’ve been on the defensive ever since, which is why they are gloating now. Don’t take it personally. It’s just a defense mechanism kicking in, but that doesn’t mean we should count Neal out of the running. It just means CS fans have their own foregone conclusions about who Emma ought to be with in the end.
I always saw the potential for CS and even started out liking the idea of Hook and Emma together, but I just got turned off by Hook in “Queen of Hearts”. Even though I saw the potential, I always knew in the back of my mind that Emma’s love for Neal is the real deal. I have every confidence they’re home to each other. Hook is merely a foil and a decoy for Neal. J-Mo has said that Hook reminds her of Neal. That pretty much says it all, doesn’t it? The reason Emma and Hook seem to have a connection is because of Neal. YUP.
I see Hook continuing to vie for Emma romantically, but her continuing not to reciprocate feelings of love. Is Emma attracted to him? Yeah, that much is obvious. And yet, I think what they have is a friends with benefits type thing going on. Nevertheless, it’s really a distraction of the deeper story of Emma getting back to her true love, who is Neal. 🙂
