I think A and E decided that they weren’t that interested in it because they thought the Triangle would be a better angle. Which sucks because it turns out that it hasn’t been very positive for the show at all. They plan on devloping CaptainFire, they best do so right quick. There needs to be some sort of advance there. As to the peek, I don’t know…I’m not sure I agree with you guys. I think Hook IS jealous but I also think he is very concerned.
Like I wrote above, I think Hook is deeply divided between thinking of Neal as Milha’s son, and seeing Neal as a real contender. Any real hope I had last summer after Hook turned around his ship in Bae’s honor in 2×22 and toasted Neal’s memory in 3×1 fizzled out by 3×7 when Hook nearly got himself and Neal killed in “Dark Hollow.” Perhaps it’s like CrownedWithLaurels said; maybe the writers are holding off on showing Hook wanting to help his son-figure Neal out by reuniting him with his family. Yet, the Hook they’re showing currently in 3×12 and 3×13 still seems mostly concerned with his own self-interests rather than with Neal’s. Neal’s biological father was willing to sacrifice himself to give Neal that second chance at happiness, and yet so far, Hook seems determined to come between Neal and Emma. So unless Hook does an about-face by the end of S3, I remain very skeptical of Hook’s motives. Right now, I get the vibe that Hook mostly resents Emma’s concern for Neal.
