I have a theory that some people may assume the worst fate about Neal but that Emma is going to be the one this time who holds onto hope he is still alive. Last time, Emma had been hoping he’d died, not because she wishes him dead, but because it would’ve been easier on her not to deal with their past hurt. This time, I think Emma is going to find her hope for her own happy ending though, because all happy endings start with hope. And if there is one thing MamaSnow has wanted for Emma, it’s that Emma would learn that lesson because she owes it to herself, not just Henry, to believe Neal could be alive.
