Though I agree with most of that I think there is a difference between turning into a sparkly unicorn love bunny and showing basic respect when someone is being emotionally open to you. I always considered myself more of an Emma fan than a Hook fan but perhaps I have to re-evaluate that stance lol.
My recent issues with her though deal with more than just Hook. As a mother I can relate to her wanting to protect Henry from the danger of the fairytale world but to insist on denying him to even know about the huge family he has, as well as denying those same people time with Henry just smacks of selfishness to me. The reason I say that is because she has taken away Henry’s option to choose, which is something that she seems to highly value for herself. I think this is because she knows he will want to stay. I also think she has other reasons for leaving Storybrooke besides Henry’s safety. This is of course all just in my opinion though and how I see her character and the show.
