I found a line that MRJ said some time ago, and i think may explain many things:
“Research is something that I really enjoy as an actor and it’s something that I really throw myself into. I don’t want to leave any stone unturned, so there’s no way I would have gone on set having not known the arc of the character and the direction he was going to go.”
We can all agree that OUAT has became crap at the story line, doesnt have sense, the episodes dont link, characters OC, maybe was ABC pressure, maybe was A/E not knowing what to do with neal, maybe was actor request, or maybe was the 3 things.
The reason why i dont have hope is because of that MRJ line, he is to good of actor to go back to OUAT. and ABC and A/E also dont want him back, and i do think that they will show soon CS was a sceond chance, yeah i used this words for emma to find true love after having lost her 1st. But i have to say that is bc of this i keep coming back, you are great persons and some of you have hope, and that is beautiful and amazing.
