I’m also concerned that they show will get cancelled before A&E can properly end it. ABC would have to warn them in AT LEAST January that they may get the ax, since that seems to be how far ahead they write the episodes, to at least give them enough time to wrap things up decently-ish. But everything else makes it look like ABC doesn’t announce renewals until the seasons are over, or almost over. If that’s the case, and A&E are still pushing for a season 5 (going on the assumption that season 4 is a lock), I worry that we may never actually get those happy endings they say that have planned.
A recent interview (I can’t remember which one) made it sound like they have vague plans for a multiple season future, but no set storyline to take them between now and the end (I don’t KNOW this for a fact, this is only going off of the impressions they’ve given in interviews). So if they were cancelled before they could plan out a solid ending, then what? What did we waste our time on? You can’t keep dangling the Carrot of Happy Endings in front of my face for almost 3 years (more if we go into season 4/5) and then pull it away without me feeling *some* kind of anger and resentment. In a way I feel like that’s what happened in 315. I kept believing there would be a happy ending for Nealfire, BECAUSE THAT WAS THE WHOLE POINT OF THE SHOW and then “Nope. We lied. Hope you like it! #hope!”. But if this happens over the long run and everything ends prematurely before ANYONE gets a happy ending? Is it wrong I kind of want other people to finally understand our pain?
