Also, I thought the whole Captain Cobra scene about the “loaded dice” was . . . random.
Especially since Killy specifically said “The secret to winning . . . loaded dice.”
So I did some research on “loaded dice”, “loading the dice”, “the dice were loaded from the start”, etc. Aside from the literal translation of loaded dice, it figuratively means that the odds were against you from the start because forces were in places beforehand that guaranteed the outcome.
So it is interesting that this scene takes place in the episode where Greenie curses Killy’s lips. At the beginning of the episode you have Killy and Henry “bonding” over what appears to be Killy teaching Henry how to “cheat” at a game. And Henry points out that it is cheating and has a kind of has a problem with this . . . but not really because it is just two guys hanging out doing guy things together and Henry is desparate for a father figure in his life (this is memory loss Henry who has never known Neal). Then Killy points out that Henry should practice since loaded dice is the secret to winning the game – as he gets up to walk over to Snowing who are standing there with GREENIE DISGUISED AS ARIEL. GAME ON.
Then at the end of the episode we have Greenie cursing our sweet pirate’s lips. But here’s the thing. The dice were loaded from the start. Emma and Killian are True Love. Forces were in place beforehand that have guaranteed the outcome of a kiss between a True Love a couple – True Love’s Kiss can break any curse. So it doesn’t matter that Killian is cursed. The secret to winning the game is loaded dice. And it’s interesting that the thing that Greenie threatened was Henry – the person that Killy had JUST taught how to “cheat” at dice. So isn’t it appropriate that Killy would actually PROVE to Henry that the secret to winning the game really IS loaded dice – and NOT in an actual “cheating” fashion, but in a heroic, I-just-saved-you-and-your-entire-family-and-brought-back-your-memories-and-saved-your-mother’s-magic-and-defeated-the-WW fashion? Wouldn’t this once again prove all the Hook haters wrong when they complain that he is a bad influence on Henry because he was teaching him to cheat at dice when Henry reminds a everyone that Killy was right – the secret to winning really WAS loaded dice – the fact that he and his mom are True Love, which he will probably point out he has known all along? Everyone will see the point to the whole thing was foreshadowing and NOT to have Killian actually training Henry to set out for Vegas (although that would be a GREAT episode!). So I really believe we are getting our TLK tonight, this is just ANOTHER thing that shows they have been setting us up for it.
