@lumee23 I didn’t even notice that she called him Hook first, I only noticed that she called him Killian!
I am guessing that mentally Emma told herself she didn’t have to “pretend” he wasn’t Captain Hook anymore (I would have to rewatch to see if this happens before or after Henry gets his memories back, but even if it is before, the kid has already seen flying monkeys and is being held captive by a green women dressed like a witch who flew in on a broomstick so she probably decided she would no longer be successful at keeping him in the dark) so she almost unconsciously called him Hook and/or since he was being presented as somewhat of a villain that was how she unconsciously addressed him. The more important part though was that later, even when she was mad at him and telling him that she couldn’t trust him she called him Killian. She really didn’t mean what she was saying, she was just using him as the person to lash out to. If she MEANT what she was saying she would call him Hook again. But she truly no longer views him as that person or as someone she can no longer trust.
They have made a big deal out of her using his real name twice now – neither time has been what we have wanted. The first was when Killy had just been cursed and it was the first time she REALLY called him Killian because Henry was out of earshot and she didn’t HAVE to call him Killian, but it was bittersweet because as much as he had been wanting to hear her say his real name he couldn’t enjoy it because he had just been cursed. Then we had last night. Again, he couldn’t enjoy it because the second time she calls him by his real name is when she is mad at him and telling him she can’t trust him – which is the MOST IMPORTANT thing with CS.
But knowing how A and E love their parallels, remember how Emma broke the curse in season 1? Right before she kissed him she said “HENRY, I love you.” Now from the promo we know something happens to Killy. It would be a great parallel and super important to Killian if the FIRST time he hears her say his real name in a positive light it is coupled with “I love you” and a TLK.
