Had a thought about BTTF. In that film, Doc died in the first 15 minutes. Marty traveled to the past 30 years before. While there he gave a note to PastDoc warning him about his death 30 years into the future. As a result of Marty going back in time, he managed to save future Doc’s life.
Now we have lots of BTTF and Wheel of Time references (lots of wheels spinning and stuff in 3×20). We had Rumple Bumple in 3×19 singing “round and round the circle of time, racing towards the finish line.” The WoT introduces the idea of being able to balefire someone’s past and thereby changing the outcome, just as Marty was able to do for Doc in BTTF. I think you see where I’m going with this. It’s a total crackpot theory.
Going back to 3×1 of OUAT, the first shot we had of Neal is him asleep.
Then Neal opens his eyes. He’s alive!
