I mean look how they treat the character. They never really gave Neal/Baelfire story and development he deserves, they killed him without much built up and it sometimes felt like they killed him off just to increase the chance for Emma to end with Hook, they think it is okay for Hook to end up with his mother and his love, they mentioned him as little as possible him after he died and they downplayed his moments and relationship with Emma. To me, it looks like they don’t like the character that much.
