Please. Please please please tell me this is NOT the story.
Guy 1 –
Is admittedly in love with girl, girl is admittedly in love with him. Guy and girl have similar concepts of future hopes and wishes. Guy makes two errors – one self-sacrifice out of the best intentions, second an inaction out of fear. Guy apologies for errors, states greatest regrets of life, makes it clear he still loves her, would like a relationship. Is blatantly honest about history and past and states that girl has every right to feel whatever and however she feels (even if it is hurtful to him.) Offers up a non-threatening option to commence relationship and states he will back off if she is not interested. Follows through. Sacrifices self on multiple occasions for girl. Also, listens to girl, makes girl laugh and is one of only TWO people girl has ever stated she loved in whole life.
Guy 2 –
States he is in love with girl. Girl does not reciprocate. Has made countless errors – including lying to girl, misleading girl, deceiving girl, omitting truths and physically endangering/harming girl on more than one occasion. NEVER APOLOGIZES for any of it. Guy states he is interested and would like a relationship. Girl is lukewarm. Guy states he WILL have her and continues to pursue her despite increasingly clear rejections. Guy performs “heroic” deeds for express purpose of looking good in girl’s eyes. Has vastly different idea of life and future than girl, tries to argue with girl about what she wants for her future. Is surprised to see girl smile, and pouts like a toddler when girl does not come running at his beck and call.
PLEASE for the love of all that is good and left in humanity, PLEASE tell me this show is going to illustrate for us that Guy 1 is the guy we should all be looking for to complete our fairy tale.
That is what they have shown so far. Show, stupid show, DO NOT do a 180 on us here. Please FOR THE LOVE follow through on what you have spent nearly three seasons setting up.
Cause this story needs some mending & a better happy ending...
