Another reason why I think the prophesy will ultimately refer to Emma is to do with her being the product of the truest love, like her new brother, whom Zelena used to represent fourth element, innocence, in her time travel spell. Unicorns are a medieval symbol of innocence and purity. In 2×5, Regina first refused to removed the heart of a unicorn, which she said was innocent. Well, Emma has strongly been associated with unicorns ever since the pilot episode. Also, Emma has been filmed as recently as 3×11 standing under her unicorn mobile from her infancy. The unicorn mobile again was presented in Charming’s dream sequence in 3×14. While Emma isn’t perfect (she was a thief after all), Glinda said that innocence reclaimed can be as powerful as innocence born. Emma could be the one to take up the seat as the Good Witch of the West, which is the seat of innocence.
Another reason I think Emma could become the Good Which of the West is that in 3×17, Emma was shown through Hook’s telescope to be sitting in Granny’s under a sign that said sandwhich. Which = Witch. Also, in that episode, Regina was training Emma and was growing frustrated by Emma’s lack of progress and remarked what a waste of potential Emma was. In 3×20, Glinda told Zelena that the future of the West was as limitless and full of potential as Zelena’s own future. Yet, because Zelena gave into envy again, she basically gave up her claim to being the witch of innocence and instead chose to become to the wicked witch. Now that chair stands vacant, ready for another powerful sorceress to become the witch of the west who represents that most illusive of all elements, innocence. I still think that powerful sorceress who will make Oz her home until she defeats the biggest evil Oz has ever known is Emma.
