Melinda, I’m sorry if you are not enjoying what is happening in this thread. But the fact is, people are allowed to talk about whatever they like, so long as it is done respectfully and abides by the rules of this forum. Both shipping threads are in the same state–one is angry at Jmo, one is angry at the fandom, but both have seen better days. For you to come into this thread and attempt to vilify everyone in here is absurd. To accuse people of spreading hate around the world is extreme. It’s a TV show and we are remaking on what JMo said in an interview. Yes it upset people and they have a right to be upset. There is ZERO need for you to come in here and speak this way to people. If you want to talk about SwanFire, then redirect the conversation back to them. If it bothers you what is happening in here, there are better ways to approach the subject than the way you did. Both shipping threads speak with hatred about the other. Trust me. I’ve read it all. I have to. You better believe that I wish it was different but fact is, it’s not. I’ve tried. Shipping threads are safe havens where you can talk about your feelings about everything, not just the ship of that thread. I have tried my hardest to keep it sane and clean but there are only so many hours in the day.
To the rest of you…I know it has been a rough few months. I know we’re hurt and angry and upset. I wish we could be more positive lately. Most of our posts do seem to be of the negative variety but that’s the state of our ship and fandom so I know it’s hard to come here with gifs and metas and videos. I wish I had a solution to our problems but I don’t. Maybe what we need is a 24 hour SF-fest where we do nothing but talk positive things about SF, or something.
The fact that I woke up to this level of fighting is absurd. Everyone ease up off the throttle and try to be more calm from here on out
