Someone forgot about the curtains in Lacey especially as that was an important scene in Skin Deep.
That is a continuity error that may or may not fit with the timeline, see Keb’s reasonings behind it. That is not very obvious set decoration that clearly spells out what month/season the characters and story are in.
Thing is, The Doctor would’ve been filmed way before October. What if the decorations were for another fictional holiday in Storybrooke. We know they have Miner’s Day, may be they have Farmer’s Day hence the hay bales?
So scarecrows, hay bales and pumpkins are for farmers and not halloween. And you’re making my argument for me. The set decor is a reflection of when the episode AIRED not when it was shot. It aired on Halloween. you’re supposed to be in “halloween/fall” mode for this episode.
