I read that in 3×21-3×22, A&E wanted to bring back the huntsman for a guest appearance. He would’ve appeared in the past as one of Regina’s guards. Emma would’ve seen him and had a longing glance from afar as she remembered Graham, yet wouldn’t have approached him. At this point, since we can’t have Neal back, I would’ve been more than happy to have seen Emma bring Graham, rather than Marian, back with her to the future. If only the actor who played Graham could be brought back on a full-time basis. I was a fan of Emma and Graham, long before I ever imagined Emma and Baelfire had a love connection. Their relationship had all sorts of potential.
Also, I agree with the author of this article entitled 12 Characters Once Upon a Time Wants You to Forget About that it would’ve created an interesting moral question for Emma to save Graham from his own fate in the future, since she’d begun falling for him when he died in her arms. It also would’ve been interesting to see Regina’s reaction in the present day, and to see how Emma would’ve in turn responded (it’s odd how Emma never again opened up an investigation into the mysterious circumstances surrounding Graham’s death). And as much as I dislike love triangles, I have a feeling that if Jamie Dorman had stuck around as Graham, then not as many people would’ve been rooting for Hook, since both actors are considered heart throbs. Good looks seem to count for more than good choices among certain viewers, so given Jamie’s attractive looks, combined with Graham’s goodness, he would’ve been an easy winning choice for Emma.
